I finally finished a new picture! I've been looking a lot the fundamental flaws in some of my pictures. It's funny how you don't always see these problems. Sometimes I find that I've been working so long on something I just can't stand back get a fresh perspective.

With this picture I wanted to address some of my bad-art-habits, like working to much on one small detail instead of the whole picture. This always makes my pictures look incongruent, and things don't fit together nicely. I don't know how well I did with this but I think at least it's a step in the right direction...

Basically my premise for this picture is a girl who was taken away to a spirit/faerie other world. When she returned she found that 1000 had passed and everyone she loved had died long ago. I really like how in faerie stories if you are in contact or enter their world and are to return, you are always affected in a really profound way, which is usually negative and prevents the person from living a normal life. I don't know if the idea is really visible in the picture, but it was more me practicing technique then creativity. Maybe I'll do a series or something, I don't know.
